Young People's Beginning Experience
YPBE Luthercrest in Alexandria, MN offers a choice of
two Friday through Sunday weekend dates per year:
-
**Youth weekend not available at this time due to COVID-19 restrictions**
Young People’s Beginning Experience weekend for ages 12-18. This is for youth that have experienced loss of a parent due to death or the changes that come with divorce or separation. Please contact Trina Poster at trinacharles111@gmail.com or (320)491-9168, if you know of anyone interested.
The loss of a parent through death, or a changed parental relationship through separation or divorce, is a traumatic experience for those of all ages. For young people, the normal stresses of becoming your own person, peer pressure, and feeling that you lack someone to talk to add to the confusion.
If you are hurting and in pain after your parent's death, separation or divorce, the Young People's Beginning Experience program is designed to help you manage these feelings.
With the help of a certified team of adults and young adults who have themselves experienced this loss, you and other participants are helped to sort out and address your feelings regarding your losses. The Young People's Beginning Experience program enables you to become better adjusted to your changed surroundings and family structure.
The Young People's Beginning Experience is presented from Friday evening through Sunday afternoon by a team of adults and young adults who have experienced this loss and are willing to share their experience to help others.
Team members lead you through a program of personal presentations by team members, private reflection and journaling, and sharing in a small group.
The truth is no one has to suffer alone, and although life may never be the same, it can be good again...very good.
